About EnergyShare
EnergyShare is Dominion's fuel assistance program of last resort for anyone who faces financial hardships from unemployment or family crisis.
- EnergyShare is a heating and cooling assistance program in Virginia, and a heating assistance program in North Carolina and Ohio. Heating assistance applies to any heat source - oil, gas, kerosene, wood and electricity.
- Payments go directly to energy vendors and every cent donated goes to benefit those in need because Dominion pays for the program's administrative expenses.
- Funds come from tax-deductible donations from customers, stockholders, employees, EnergyShare Partners and Dominion. Funds are distributed through a network of nonprofit health and human service agencies.
How to Apply for EnergyShare Assistance
- In Virginia and North Carolina, view a list of EnergyShare agencies near you.
- In Ohio, contact your local Salvation Army.
How to Contribute
You can help — as an individual or as a company. Last year, EnergyShare received more than $1 million.
- Dominion electric customers — Simply add $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $25, or $35 to the amount due on your bill. Overpayments in these exact amounts are automatically recognized as a contribution and it will be documented on your next bill. Or, mail a check for any amount (made payable to "EnergyShare") to EnergyShare, P.O. Box 11186, Richmond, VA 23230-1186. In North Carolina, the mailing address is EnergyShare, P.O. Box 370, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870-0370.
- Dominion East Ohio customers — Simply add $1, $2, $6, $12, $18, or $36 to the amount due on your bill. Overpayments in these exact amounts are automatically recognized as a contribution and it will be documented on your next bill. Or, mail a check for any amount (made payable to "EnergyShare") to EnergyShare, The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 5847, Cleveland, OH 44101.
- Business customers — You can be an EnergyShare Partner by contributing, by distributing information to their customers and employees, and by providing other support. Contact us for information on becoming an EnergyShare Partner.
