Transmission Line Projects
Regulatory Resources

Bristers-Gainesville
230kV Line

Dominion is proposing to build a 230 kilovolt (kV) transmission line in portions of Fauquier County and Prince William County. The new facilities are necessary to meet load growth and support the electrical transmission system in the Northern Piedmont area by the Summer of 2009.

Without the proposed facilities, the Company’s transmission system will not meet the North American Electric Reliability Council’s (NERC) Reliability Standards for electric transmission lines.

The proposed new facilities will be built entirely within existing right-of-way obtained by the Company in the late 1960’s.
