Hopewell is a 63 MW coal-fired electric generation facility located in Hopewell, Virginia.
The station consists of two separate Babcock & Wilcox boilers supplying steam to one Mitsubishi turbine powering one Alstom generator.
Hopewell itilizes fluidized gas desulfurization and baghouses for particulate removal, and selective non-catalytic reduction to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides.
The station began commercial operations in July, 1992 and was subsequently re-commissioned on April 1, 2007.
