Southampton Power Station, located on 24 acres in Franklin, Virginia, produces enough electricity to power about 15,750 homes, using coal as its primary fuel.
Southampton consists of a single 63-megawatt coal-fired generating unit.
The unit is equipped with a fluidized gas desulfurization system to reduce emissions of sulfur dioxide and with an exhaust gas baghouse to trap fly ash.
