Gathering-Producer Services

This information is for the producers and operators who deliver natural gas into the gathering portion of Dominion's pipeline systems: Dominion East Ohio, Dominion Hope, and Dominion Transmission.

Dominion operates more than 5,400 miles of gathering pipeline and 93 gathering compressor stations in Maryland, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. Gathering-Producer Services is Dominion's primary point of contact for local producers, overseeing more than 11,700 production gas delivery points into the Dominion pipeline system. Producers annually deliver more than 175 Bcf of gas into Dominion systems.

The Hastings Extraction Plant is the largest natural gas plant in the East, processing and fractionating up to 180 MMcfd of local production.

Dominion's underground natural gas storage system includes 26 storage fields that store about 950 Bcf of gas. The company has numerous links to other major pipelines and can access markets in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the United States.

Dominion Cove Point LNG, LP is the nation's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facility. Located on Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, Cove Point has a current capacity of 5 Bcf with an additional 2.8 Bcf under construction.
 

Our Services

We strive to provide facilities and services that make Dominion the preferred local outlet for production gas. By continually expanding and upgrading our existing facilities, both pipelines and compression, Dominion enables producers to move more gas into our system. We work aggressively with producers to align our mutual objective of maximum production throughput, while meeting all safety and compliance requirements.

Dominion to Build Natural Gas Gathering Enhancement Project in West Virginia

Dominion announced on Dec. 16, 2009, the Gathering Enhancement Project, a $253 million expansion of its natural gas gathering, processing and liquids facilities in West Virginia. The project is designed to increase the efficiency and reduce high pressures in its gathering system, thus increasing the amount of natural gas local producers can move through Dominion's West Virginia system. > Read more.
