Energy Assistance Programs

Dominion Peoples offers a variety of programs for customers on low or fixed incomes or who may have special needs. Contact us at 1-800-400-WARM for details, eligibility requirements and enrollment information.

$1 Energy Fund:
For customers below a certain income level, the $1 Energy Fund (a nonprofit agency) can provide help when all other forms of assistance have been exhausted. Find out more on the $1 Energy Fund web site. You can help people without heat or light by adding $1 to your monthly Dominion Peoples gas payment.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP):
A federally-funded program, LIHEAP provides grants to income eligible customers. While the program is closed for the 2007-2008 program year, the income guidelines have increased for the 2008-2009 Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) year. If your income falls within the guidelines, you may apply for the program when it opens in November 2008. Find out more and download an application at the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare web site.

Low Income Usage Reduction Program (LIURP):
Based on income and energy usage, customers may be eligible to receive heating system retrofits, weather-stripping, caulking, insulation and other energy-saving measures.

Customer Assistance Program (CAP):
Based on income and family size, CAP allows customers to pay a certain percentage of their gas bill.

Customer Assistance Referral Evaluation Service (CARES):
Our Customer Relations Representatives provide assessments for customers in special situations, such as the unemployed, those with certain medical needs, or frail older adults.
