Call us as soon as you get
a delinquent notice. The sooner you call, the more services there are to help
you. We can discuss a variety of special extended payment plans and other payment
assistance options. Here are some examples:
Budget Payment Plan
You can spread your annual gas costs over a twelve month period to help control
your household budget. We set our monthly budget amount by reviewing your past
year’s usage and applying current gas rates and taxes. This amount is simply
divided into twelve monthly payments. Call us
to sign up or for more information.
Budget Plus Plan
This plan helps customers pay off past due balances by spreading arrears over
12 months. Customers must also pay their monthly budget amount.
LIEAP
If you're out of work, or on a low or fixed income, you may be eligible to receive
a cash payment to help with your gas bill. There also is a Special Reduced Residential
Service Rate Program established to assist certain eligible participants in
receiving a 20 percent discount from their electric and/or gas company. Find
out more from the West
Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. Applications also are
available at local Community Action agencies, senior citizen centers or by calling
DHHR at 1-800-642-8589.
20% Low Income Discount
Eligible customers must be certified by the West Virginia Department of Health
and Human Resources to receive:
Supplemental Security Income (SSI);
Food Stamps, and you are 60 years of age or older;
Aid to families with Dependent Children under WV Works.
Each fall eligible customers will receive an application for
the West Virginia Low Income Discount Program. The application outlines all
the details for enrollment.
Each application has a waiver on the back which must be signed
before the Department of Health and Human Resources will inform us of your continued
eligibility. If the waiver is not signed, you must prove eligibility each month.
Once the application is approved, 20% will be deducted off
your gas bill for the billing months of December through April.
Weatherization
Eligible customers can receive heating system retrofits, weather stripping,
caulking, insulation and other energy-savings measures. Call the local Community
Action Office.
