The House Line Is Your Responsibility
Natural gas comes to your home through miles of pipelines and regulating stations.
Once the gas reaches your street, our main line feeds the gas to the service line. The service line carries the fuel to the meter at your home or business.
If we discover a leak in the service line, we will cover the cost of the repair or replacement - unless the leak is the result of damage caused by the property owner, customer or other party.
The gas meter is attached to your house line, which includes any pipes after the meter.
Your house line connects to gas appliances or equipment. Any repairs or replacement of the house line and appliances are the sole responsibility of you or the property owner.
If your gas is shut off at the gas meter because of a house-line leak, we must test the line before service can be restored.
