North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Dominion Foundation.
The funds are for the development of student research opportunities in power analysis, green energy, local environmental issues and electronics power technology.
The grant was part of $1 million awarded to 34 colleges in seven states.
The funds support programs in business, engineering, environmental studies and student-led conservation initiatives.
Also, in a separate program, a $7,500 foundation grant was issued to Perquimans Central School in Winfall in support of its Science Through the Eyes of First Graders program.
This grants program aims at meeting the needs of students K–12 by providing materials needed to develop a better understanding of science through real-life experiences.
