Energy Assistance Programs
If you're late paying your bill, call us as soon as possible so we can help you with payment plans or other payment assistance options. Two options are shown below. View our video to learn more.
EnergyShare
EnergyShare pays for any type of heating bill - oil, wood, kerosene, natural gas or electricity. The program provides a one-time payment of last resort for those who have exhausted other forms of assistance or who do not qualify for such help.
Virginia Energy Assistance
Dial 2-1-1 for information on Energy Assistance Programs available in Virginia. Or view details on the Virginia Department of Social Services Web site. There are four parts to Virginia Energy Assistance:
- Fuel Assistance - helps eligible households with the costs of heating their homes.
- Crisis Assistance - helps households in heating emergency situations with primary heat security deposits, utility heating bills, repair/replacement of heating equipment, primary heating fuel or emergency shelter.
- Cooling Assistance - helps with cooling equipment purchases or repairs and also with the electric bill.
- Weatherization Assistance - helps with energy efficiency and air infiltration.
Other options: If don't qualify for assistance and are struggling to pay your bill, we may be able to offer you a short-term payment extension or a customized payment arrangement. However, these options are not available for all situations. Check the options available to you under "Payment and Billing Options" when you manage your account online.
Energy Assistance Fairs
Dominion is partnering with state agencies to help inform customers about energy conservation and the various energy assistance programs available in Virginia. Attend an upcoming fair and learn how to lower your energy bills and prepare yourself or a loved one for the cooling season.
