Heating and Cooling Terms and Conditions

Ohio Cooling

This Cooling Repair Program  (“Program”) is offered by Dominion Products & Services, Inc. (“Dominion”) and covers the repair of an electric central air conditioner for a single-family residence that has failed due to normal wear and tear.

  1. Prices apply to one air conditioner per household (electric central air conditioner only).  This Program does not cover mobile home air conditioners.
  2. Coverage under the Program starts after the first payment is received and enrollment in the Program exceeds 30 days. Coverage continues thereafter so long as the customer makes timely payments. Customer payments prepay coverage under the Program. Coverage is suspended at the end of the prepaid period in cases of nonpayment. Customer’s account must be in good standing (current) to receive repair service under this Program.
  3. This Program covers all residential equipment makes and ages unless restricted due to unavailability of repair parts. Dominion and its approved contractors shall not be responsible for service or parts provided by the customer or a third party. Parts not shown in the coverage chart and related labor are not covered. Exclusions include compressor, refrigerant leaks, refrigerant, humidifiers, air cleaners, and heat pumps. Equipment that is not functioning properly because of a pre-existing condition is also excluded from coverage.  Any customer payment for parts and labor not covered must be made directly to the contractor.
  4. To be eligible for coverage, equipment must be installed to manufacturers’ specifications and meet code requirements.  Dominion reserves the right to inspect equipment for sixty (60) days after receipt of customer’s application to verify proper installation, code compliance, and absence of pre-existing condition.  The application may be rejected for failure of inspection in any of these areas. Dominion makes final judgment and reserves the right to establish coverage eligibility.
  5. Dominion reserves the right to contract work to designated contractors on an as needed basis.  Approved contractors must have safe access to and safe working conditions at and around all covered equipment.
  6. This Program is intended for the repair of electric central air conditioners, not the replacement of units which are deemed by Dominion to be beyond repair.
  7. Dominion’s liability to the customer is limited solely to air conditioner repair.  Damage to the air conditioner or other property caused by the actions of the customer, third parties, natural disasters or acts of God or any insurable causes are excluded from coverage.  Dominion does not assume responsibility for any work or repairs done by the customer (or by the occupant of the residence if the Customer does not reside there), or by any third party without prior authorization by Dominion.
  8. In order for you to be eligible to receive coverage for a claim under the Program, you are required to notify Dominion of the claim condition before any remedial work is attempted on your air conditioner.
  9. Dominion shall have the right to modify the Cooling Repair Program, from time to time, and will provide thirty (30) days written notice of material changes.  Dominion shall also have the right to terminate the Cooling Repair Program on ninety (90) days written notice.
  10. By enrolling in the Program the customer: (a) represents that to the best of his/her knowledge, equipment to be covered is functioning properly; (b) authorizes the utility to provide Dominion with any information about this account.
  11. Customer charges for the Program will appear on customer’s monthly utility bill.  If utility billing is not possible, payments can be pre-paid.
